If you say - don't do it, it's too difficult - she'll think, this cow thinks I'm too stupid - who does she think she actually is?

Let's put it in a symbolic manner: anybody can step on a surfboard and ride the waves. You may fall off a couple of times, must usually you'll be fine after 1hr of trying.
This kind of learning curve I would transform into 2-6 months of studying when doing forex trading.
Even then - lets get back to surfing again: with this basic knowledge of surfing, would you go out and ride on those famous surfing beaches in Hawaii, where only the hardliners go, because waves are so high and beautifully long? At the same time - a quite a few people drown there every season !

I think, that puts it somewhat into a perspective.

In my above link I'm offering a forex education package when you buy the latest live trading forex robot through my link.

Although the salespage of the vendors says, you can start with very little money - a word of warning: if you don't have enough "playing money" just don't do it - you'll not have enough "spread" to cover your expenses.

There are many more tips on my blog:

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYBODY !!

Brigitta J. The villagers were no longer keen to go in the woods for the apes, they rather did the work they used to do. So the man said, he'll pay now $20 for each ape. Newly motivated, the villagers went to the woods again and came back with the apes.

But now the apes were really getting rare, and the villagers were no longer keen to catch them - too much work!

That's why the man said: now, I'll really need more apes - and I'll pay $ 50,- for each ape you bring me. But I'll have to go to town tomorrow, so my assistant will be here to represent me.

When the man had gone, the assistant said to the villagers:"Look at all those apes in the cages here, this man has bought? I'll sell them to you for $ 35,- and when my boss comes back tomorrow from town, you can sell the apes back to him for $ 50,-; that's super, no?"

Now the villagers took all      their money and all their savings,       and bought the apes for $35,-;

After this business, the villagers saw neither of these two men again!

But the apes - there were there, where they always have been - right from the beginning!

Welcome to Wall-Street - the american economic miracle!!

Brigitta J. I'm just not the guru living a millionaire's life - I'm just the normal person.

So yesterday I briefly explained the benefits of Global Resorts Network to her- as I will now to you, told her to go and check here to look it up.
You get to buy Luxury Resort Membership with which you can enjoy superior accommodation at most sought after places worldwide, at prices significantly below market prices.

At the same time you can make a small (or even a big) fortune by inviting others to join. And even if you are NOT the sales type and see just a slim chance to sign people up, here's why it's still worth joining: here's just the latest mailing from GRN:

"Member to Member" Resorts Feature

One of the many benefits of our Luxury Resort Membership is Members can also submit their own timeshare weeks which will be showcased and made available to other Members as long as the proper standards are met. (quality & price cap).

Clarification Regarding a Recent Comparison

Recently a comparison was done for a resort called the Wyndham at Waikiki Beach Walk.

This beautiful resort is being offered through membership as a "member to member" offering

and not part of the actual registry.

Any future comparisons featuring a "member to member" booking will be stated as such.

The following Comparison sent out on April 3rd, 2008 is an example of the benefits of "Member to Member" offerings

If you're looking for a resort that packs a ton of on-site fun, be among the first to reserve your spot at the new Wyndham Waikiki Beach Walk, part of Outrigger's huge Waikiki Beach Walk project.

Just one block from the famous Waikiki Beach and set amidst the area’s newest shopping, dining and entertainment plaza, Wyndham at Waikiki Beach Walk is destined to show you a good time.

Right now, our membership is showcasing a 2 Bedroom unit at this resort, available for immediate purchase for only $799.00

When comparing the exact same size unit and dates, Hotels.com was the only major travel provider who had any available units.

They were asking over $530 per night for a total of $4,636.52 for the week.

That's over a $3800.00 savings on this one week alone.

This king of access and savings are available exclusively to our members.

Enjoy Life!

Your GRN Support Team

G L O B A L R E S O R T S N E T W O R K
22601 N. 17th Ave. Suite 230
Phoenix, AZ 85027

P.S. You have to belong to this vacation group to enjoy this little treasure."

"Our room was so pretty. It had two bedrooms. The master bedroom was HUGE. And so tastefully decorated. The Hawaiian theme was evident, but not overwhelming. It had a king size bed, flat screen TV, ample drawer space, separate shower from the toilet, and---drum roll---a jacuzzi spa that could comfortably accommodate 3 people."

"I would definitely stay here again next time."

"One of the best places i have stayed. There are going to be many times when you have to make decisions with little or no warning ,and when you aren't quite sure that you are going to be able to come up with the right type of information for your needs. In these situations, you are going to have to make split second decisions and trust your gut about what you feel is the right thing to do. Many people panic during these situations, but if you are able to trust yourself you will see that there is really no need to panic. In fact, you should be able to easily come up with what you should be doing ,and you should also be able to be completely certain that you are doing everything right. When it comes right down to it, trusting yourself is one of the best things that you can do for your own home business. It will give you the greatest amount of confidence, and allow you to make the best decisions for your needs.

There are lots of things that you can do to help yourself trust in yourself. First of all, be extra sure that you know exactly what you are doing with your home business. If you are going to open up a business, you should really be an expert in what you are doing. Read some books on the subject, take a class if you can do so. Talk to other people in order to help yourself be sure that you are an expert when it comes to this sort of thing. It is very important that you are able to do as much as you can to learn about your business.

The next thing that you should do in order to be able to trust yourself is to take a good look at what you are doing in your business and be sure that it seems calm, level headed, and correct. Don't make rash judgments, and ask for advice if you think that you need it. A good way for you to really get a good idea of what you are doing with your business would be for you to take a step back and see if you can look at it objectively. If you can look at it from someone else's perspective you will be able to see where you have done good and where you should be able to do better.

Remember that you are always going to make mistakes, because you are a person and people make mistakes. Therefore, another huge part of trusting yourself is being able to forgive yourself when you make a mistake, and to be able to know that you have put the past behind you and that you are ready to be a success again. It is something that you want to think about very carefully before you start a home business.

Brigitta J. Let's see. Originally, the wild goldfish, belonging to the carp family, was just grey with rare coloured mutations occuring, until some Chienese had the idea to breed it in gold and red. And over time it became the most popular pet worldwide, there are millions of people keeping goldfish.

As there are millions of men who insist that their wives stay at home to look after the children, or after themselves.
The downside of mutation breeding being that it can generally only be done until the little golden darling is 7 or at most 10 years old, after which he/she lives a mostly asexual life until he/she dies at the age of around 30. Now the keen observant will indeed find parallels between this timespan and the presence of exciting sexual life within the average marriage-:)
Some breeders took their job seriousely and bred enormous humps on the fish's head or strangely shaped fins, so that the fish could hardly swim any more. No parallel here to our Stay at Home Mom, or have you ever heard of a live fish that drowned?
But here is one, indeed - both of them lead a shadow life, rather boring. The goldfish sees himself distorted and multiplied many times in his round bolw, although I have heard that some Stay at Home Moms say that this is exactly like her vision turned after a couple of years, too.

Experts say, you should give your golden pet a square glass tank and / or a pond to swim in the garden.
And Stay at Home Mom's? They could pour their energy into a Work-From-Home Business to keep their sanity and become financially independent from the crumbs being fed by the hubby!

About the Author:
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Brigitta Vetter, MBA writes about how to find the best Home Based Business Ideas and
Opportunities. This year’s promotion-offer is absolutely awesome: sign-up for autoship 50 magazines of SU called EMPOWER per month (includes CD’s Success Stories etc.), distribute them to people, and if you have not earned a min. of US$ 50.000,- after 12 months, you get ALL your money for the magazines back, plus US$ 50.000,- as your guarantee. Now, of course you’ll have to produce records for this to happen.
If I lived in an English speaking country, I’d do this immediately. What’s easier than handing out a superbly made-up magazine, collect name, e-mail + phone no. of a person, and follow up on them after 2 weeks? As I see it, this organization has to very sure of its EMPOWERISM magazine and the magnetism built-in to sign-up students!
You can join Success University and get immediate access to a huge library of multi media training, all as “webinars” and personal development courses and, as mentioned, you will have the opportunity to make potentially huge commissions by referring other people to Success University.

Want to see for yourself right away? Just visit /Success University to join or sign up for the $2 Two Week Trial here.

As a Member, What Sort of Training Courses do I Have Access to?

The training courses in the member center are continuously being updated and enhanced, with new courses being added on a regular basis. At the time of writing this review, there are over 120 different multimedia courses in the areas of motivation, personal development, finance, internet marketing, sales, leadership, real estate, network marketing and communication. Each course has about 20 lessons lasting between half an hour and 1.5 hours. Here is a small selection of what is available:
• Your Goal Mind (by Cyndi McDonald)
• 17 Ways To Look and Feel Younger in 30 Days (by Christopher Guerriero)
• Conquer Fear (by Lisa Jimenez)
• Creating a Powerful Appearance (by Linda Thomas)
• How Pay Per Click Advertising Works (by Mike Filsaime)
• Ten Commandments of Real Estate Investing (by William Bronchick)
• The Art of Effective Communication (by Nido R Qubein)
• Train Wreck to Triumph (by Teri Werner)
• The Fine Art of Small Talk (by Debra Fine)
• Street Smart Network Marketing (by Robert Butwin)
• Take Charge, Get Results (by George Morse)
• Food Combining for Health and Longevity (by Dr. Wayne Pickering)
• Making a difference - 12 qualities that make you a leader (by Dr Sheila Murray Bethel )
• Secrets of a Sales Superstar (by Brian Tracy)
• Increasing Your Memory (by Ron White)
• The Soul of Winning (by Byrd Baggett)
• Triggers (by Joe Sugarman)
This is just a selection of the courses available, but I think you get the idea.

What can I Earn with Success University?

As long as you can personally refer two other members you can start earning commission in your first month, from a combination of your own referrals and the referrals of those above you and below you.

The commission plan is a binary and too complex to explain in a few sentences, but you are looking at around $30ish per six people in your organization (including people sponsored by your upline and downline) + various bonuses.

There are lots of FAQs and a training call which explain the commission structure in more detail. How do I Get Paid? If you are in the USA, Canada or Mexico you will receive a check by mail. International affiliates like myself receive a cash card which can be used in cash machines round the world. Commissions are paid both weekly and monthly.

How Much Does it Cost to Join Success University?

The monthly cost is $55.90 – as they express it: “for the cost of a cup of coffee per day” – however, in Europe you pay €2,60 for a cup of coffee, around US$ 3 -. This includes full access to all the courses mentioned above, training, the ability to earn commission and a nice physical package per mail every month (for all students worldwide) with a newsletter and a CD.

If you are unsure of whether or not Success University is for you, you can always sign up for a $2 trial. The $2 is donated to charity.

This trial gives you access to the member center for a full two weeks and you can cancel at any time if you decide that it is not right for you.

Am I Tied in for a Specific Number of Months?

No, you can quit at the end of the two week trial, at the end of a few weeks, a few months or a few years. You are not tied in in any way.

What about Training and Support for Promoting SU?

There's an email training bootcamp and a getting started checklist for when you join initially. There are also regular training and marketing calls, a weekly faculty call, a support helpdesk and lots of marketing materials such as banners and email ads. All the calls are recorded so you can access them at a later date if the time doesn't suit you.

How can I Join Success University?

Just visit /Success University to join or sign up for the $2 Two Week Trial here.

About the Author:
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Brigitta Vetter writes about how to find the best home based business ideas and
opportunities so you can work at home. If you are in a very stressful job, maybe this video makes you turn to home-business -:)
http://www.ted.com/talks/view/id/229 (19 valuable minutes)

Life is absolutely incredible and the way we function is miraculous!

Why you should listen to Jill:
One morning, a blood vessel in Jill Bolte Taylor's brain exploded. As a brain scientist, she realized she had a ringside seat to her own stroke. She watched as her brain functions shut down one by one: motion, speech, memory, self-awareness ...
Amazed to find herself alive, Taylor spent eight years recovering her ability to think, walk and talk. She has become a spokesperson for stroke recovery and for the possibility of coming back from brain injury stronger than before. In her case, although the stroke damaged the left side of her brain, her recovery unleashed a torrent of creative energy from her right. From her home base in Indiana, she now travels the country on behalf of the Harvard Brain Bank as the "Singin' Scientist."
"How many brain scientists have been able to study the brain from the inside out? I've gotten as much out of this experience of losing my left mind as I have in my entire academic career."Jill Bolte Taylor.

That was the clearest description I ever came to concerning such an incident, which can sweep down on ANY OF US - as this film has shown, even to very relatively YOUNG persons. And what's most astounding - even in such a situation, she doesn't call EMERGENCY - 112- or whatever this number is in her area - but searches through a stack of cards for the number of her COMPANY - she does not even PERCEIVE that this is actually an EMERGENCY for HERSELF - a life and death question for herself !!!Most likely we would do just the same - this is HOW WE ARE PROGRAMMED- our brain is like a MICROSOFT programm searching for a solution that is not to be found within the SOFTWARE - but OUTSIDE ot if. But the SYSTEM tells us to search WITHIN the computer-harddisk !! We all know the result: up comes a window - after a looong time of futile search - asking: should the problem be solved by searching ONLINE help in the internet? By the time this happens- we are probalbly dead!!To think she thought she was SPEAKING on the phone - but was actually just babbling - I think - besides what could happen to ourselves - this film makes us all so much more aware of - "THESE things we must remember - whenever WE get such a call from someone" - to be REALLY alarmed and get immediate help, and not think that someone just dialled the wrong number or is just drunk or so - presuming the worst about some people- as we are SOMETIMES inclined to do when we are very tired or irritated.....but to take immediate ACTION.What amazes me most is, that a stroke often hits people who you think have a really "easy going life" (=like my brother- who had a huge fixed income, happy family + all + nothing to worry about, unlike me as an enterpreneur - always worrying, the pillow I was sleeping on was never too fatly stuffed with eiderdowns!!) etc.) and not a stressful one (as I have always had). But the definition of "stress" is not to be defined objectively, but only subjectively - hence - we really DON'T know, what stresses our loved ones, and mostly, we are not even aware what STRESSES OURSELVES - or this wonderful intelligent woman and BRAIN SPECIALIST would not have suffered a stroke- as a doctor she would have known how to prevent it - surely. Now I've heard there is a reagens to come onto the market soon that may be ABLE to tell (in a blood test) if and when we are AT HIGH RISK to suffer from stroke. Now - I wonder - !! What I actually found so phanstastic was the description of "the entire relieve and excitement" to be at last - rid of all the worries and responsibilities - in the NEAR DEATH - experience description - which takes away the fear of death- ! Death is - as she said - indeed just a transition and a wonderful one - if we are able to let go of the anxiety fixing us to this earthly life. NOW, MOST RELIGIONS TEACH US JUST THAT= we need not fear death - but - put a hand on your heart- and at the end of the day - YES - we DO fear it. But this story took a lot of the sting out of this fear for me- I don't know how YOU perceived it?I cannot help but close this chapter about our brain and its functions with an absolutely tasteless joke my son in law told me: "two winoes are discussing a TV series concerning Parkinson and Altzheimer desease- and one asks the other- "tell me - if fate should decide, WHICH one of the 2 deseases would you rather suffer from?" So his mate ponders for a while and says : "I'd choose Altzheimer any day. Because I'd rather FORGET to pay for a PINT than SPILL it!"Now we ALL know that jokes express a situation, people (folks) feel helpless about. Statistics say, 90% of us will suffer from Altzheimer as we progress into old age, and there is NO REAL CURE FOR IT - SO - HERE AGAIN - WE (and science) DO NOT KNOW WHAT MAKES OUR BRAIN TICK!!! And maybe - it's for the best????

Brigitta J. Without a plan you go nowhere or you go in circles accomplishing nothing. In order to begin your business on the right path you should come up with a business plan, a marketing plan and a home plan. Your business plan is a necessary item that will be needed for loan applications, the hiring of employees, for business affiliates and personal goal setting. You want to have information such as what your business is named and what the mission of your business is. What is your product or service and who is it being made for. Who is your target customer base? What will it cost to make your product and what can you sell it for? What will be your end profit? These key pieces of information are needed especially when you require start up funds. These can be funds from a bank loan or an affiliate who is willing to become a financial backer of your company. Create a binder or portfolio for your business plan. Make copies and keep this accessible for times when it is needed.

Included in your business plan should be a marketing plan or an advertising campaign. How do you plan to provide the consumer public with information about your business, product or service? Will you be renting a billboard, running newspaper advertisements, magazine ads, television, radio and so on? Will you have a website or be running Internet ads such as those sponsored by Google ad sense or Microsoft ad center? What is the cost of each advertisement media? Do you have the funding for these advertising efforts or do you need outside funds? This once again shows any outside parties that you have done the needed research to know how you plan to reach the consumer public for sales. You can also include the percentages or charts that show success of similar advertising campaigns and how well your marketing choices will relate to your business.

A home plan is for the benefit of you and your family while your business takes shape. You have to be realistic in the facts that a business does not become a hit success over night. Money, time and effort are needed before you will see a solid flow of income from your home business. You need to be aware of your household budget per week and month. Be sure that you have at a minimum three months worth of savings to allow for household expenses including utilities, food, gas, hygiene items etc. This will allow you to apply other funds to your business without creating strife in your home. You may also want to maintain a part time job position at your current job or elsewhere. If your spouse works this may not be required. The exact plans for a household will vary on the specific family needs. Preparation is key to a successful business start up as well as successful home life as the transition from an outside job to a home based career take place.

Brigitta J. This is something that many employers struggle with because they have found that people enjoy working from home. They are able to spend time with their families and do the things around the house that need to be done. Also, they can usually get much more done during the day by working from home than they would be able to do by working for you in your office. Therefore, you might have found that many of your employees leave what they are doing for you in order to work from home. You are then left with a bunch of people who aren't very good and who are not able to do the work that you had with your good employees. There are several things that you can do about this. First of all, you can help your employees by allowing them to keep working for you, but do most of it from home.

It all depends on your business, but most likely there is going to be something that your employees can do at home. Think about all of the things that they do each day, and unless they are working with customers the entire time they are there, they can probably do some or all of their work at home. Remember that if you can work out a system where your employees are allowed to do some or all of their work from home, they will probably be happier and better able to do the work that needs to be done at the office.

If you allow your employees to do what they can do at home, without having to worry about taking a dock in pay for it, you are going to find that you will have much better employees. This means that you will be able to take advantage of the morale that your employees have, and you will also be able to make them much happier with you and much happier in their lives in general. Allowing your employees to do what they can do at home will mean that when they are working in your office they are less likely to be bored or frustrated or burnt out. If you can have them come in several times a week for meetings or to do what they need to do, you will find that they are better able to have the morale that you need for your business.

Boosting morale is always a better way to get things done, rather than trying to drive your employees to work harder than they want to work. If you can make them happier with their lives by allowing them to have some time to work at home during the week you will find that they are actually going to produce more for you ,and be happier with the business overall. This might be the best way that you have to keep the good employees you have and attract new employees.

Brigitta J. Sure, text links and banner ads are great, but when it comes to creating the kind of advertising vehicle that consumers will hold on to and even pass on to others, you cannot beat article marketing! Of course, like any other good thing there are pitfalls to avoid.

As a matter of fact, the 10 deadly sins of an affiliate marketing article must be avoided at all cost, lest your company’s reputation will suffer!

1. Whatever you do with your affiliate marketing article, do not use it to spam a blog or a forum. Some self proclaimed marketers have attempted to use such articles as forum posts and while they might write different introductions for the article to make it look like an ad hoc posting in response to another forum poster, within a few short sentences it becomes painfully obvious that the post is little more than an unwelcome sales pitch.
2. Unless you are a seasoned wordsmith, have your affiliate marketing article ghostwritten. The sheer volume of badly written articles – be it diction, grammar, or punctuation – is legion and there is little more embarrassing than having your customers point out a number of mistakes and error.
3. Fact-check your articles. This is vital when you use statistical data but also quotes.
4. Keep it pithy. 400 to 500 words are more than sufficient to write a worthwhile piece of non fiction to market your company, good, or service. Exceeding the 800 word count is pushing it.
5. Do not put all of your advertising eggs in one basket but instead commission (if you use a ghostwriter) a number of articles that look at the topic and product form a number of different angles. This puts volume behind your marketing campaign and while one approach may not appeal to your readers, another one might have just the hook you need to get the reader to turn into a buyer.
6. Do not overdo the pitch in your affiliate marketing article. Sure, you want everyone to know that your products and company at the cat’s meow, but unless you tempter substance with advertising, you will not find too many readers.
7. Advertise one thing only per article. Choose your product, your company, or an email newsletter you are offering for free. Cutting down on the things marketed permit for the development of a great strategy throughout the article.
8. Forgetting to include an opt-in link to your mailing list or email newsletter subscription database is perhaps the most egregious of the 10 deadly sins of an affiliate marketing article. Each article that is not offering that option simply is not working hard enough for you!
9. Having too many articles that differ in tone. While some articles may lend themselves to be spunky but intellectual, the failure to have your article ghostwritten by one writer will lead to a number of different skill levels to craft your work. Instead, request that one freelancer be given the assignment to make sure the tone remains similar.
10. Last but not least, cutting and pasting freely available material from the Internet is a deadly sin that might not get you in trouble, but it will show that your company has nothing new to offer. This is not the impression you want your clientele to have of you, your product, or the company you represent!

Brigitta J. Even though you work from home, you still need to be productive in order to earn a living. If you are the type who procrastinates, then you may want to reconsider working from home. Those who are able to motivate themselves usually are successful. But this does not mean that people who lack self motivation skills can't learn, it may just be more difficult than for others. Creating a daily schedule may be necessary in order to maintain a steady pace.

In order to create an efficient schedule, you need to write down all the daily task that need to be accomplished during the day. Once you have these tasks written down, then you can begin to create a schedule. Based on the number of hours you want to work each day, you should set realistic times for completion so you aren't rushing through them. Instead, you can take your time to make sure they are done correctly. Many people believe they can accomplish more during the day than is actually possible, so learning how to budget time and gauge how much time each tasks takes can help you plan for your day.

Investing in a calendar, dry erase board, and other materials to create your schedule will help in the long run. Once you have a list, you can check off items as they are completed, add or subtract from the list, and determine how long you need to work each day. The more time you put into your business in the beginning, the more successful it will be. Online businesses are a wonderful opportunity for you to work from home, but you need to maintain a work ethic that is strong. Because you may have to complete various tasks that others in your previous job may have completed, you will find that there aren't enough hours in the day to get all the work done. This will change once your business is established, but you may need to put in extra hours in the evening and on weekends in order to make your business grow.

Online home businesses that sell products to others will require more work than selling services, or digital items such as books and manuals that can be downloaded onto a customer's computer. If you sell products on online auction sites or through a website, you will have to work out a packing and shipping schedule so you aren’t spending all of your time running to the post office to ship an order. Selecting one or two days a week to pack and ship items will help your work load tremendously. Depending on the popularity of your product, you may need to increase these days, especially around the holidays. When you stay focused on running your business and sticking to a schedule, you will find that success is not difficult to achieve.

Brigitta J. The best way to do this is to make a list, prepare a budget for your equipment, and then begin shopping for your needed items. You want to consider a way to contact clients, keep records, send updates or shipment information and perform business research. As technology moves forward it is a must to have a computer for your home business. This is one piece of equipment that can perform many duties. You can do research online, store client records, send emails and copies of other needed information to your business affiliates. Choosing between a Mac and a PC is a personal choice. Visiting a local office supply store can help you to increase your knowledge of which computer system will best suit your needs. Price can also cause you to choose one system over another. You may be required to choose a model that is not quite your preference but will get the job done until your budget increases.

The next piece of equipment you will need to look into is a copier/printer/fax machine. You can find a machine that carries all of these in one piece or you can purchase each separately. These can be found at most local office supply stores. Prices will vary due to brand names and functions as well as your budget. Looking for a piece of equipment that carries all of these functions in one can save on space, which can be a must when working from a small home office. Once you have found this item you will want to look into a phone with an answering system. This may not be necessary as most people have a cellular phone with voicemail to perform the same function as a landline/ home phone line. Ensuring that you have a method of contact for business emergencies is very important. If there is an issue with a shipment or product you can be reached quickly for an immediate resolution to the problem.

You may already have a desk and chair for your home office. You want to be sure to look at those items. Are they comfortable and functional? Many people who sit at a desk and a computer for the day suffer from wrist, shoulder, neck, back and even leg pain. These pains are often due to the furniture that they are seated at. Ergonomics is the study of how an item connects to a person and how it affects the person’s health. Searching an ergonomic furnishings sight can offer solutions for your pain problems in a chair with proper back support or a wrist rest for your keyboard etc. These items may be more costly but they can prevent pain and discomfort as you work.

Price is not always a sign that a piece of equipment is better than another. You should look for reviews on a piece of equipment. You can do so online. Looking for positive feedback can help you to choose the right pieces of office equipment for your home business. Keep in mind that you can make purchases that get the job done now and upgrade to items that will be for the long run in the future. Having what you need on hand to begin your business venture is what is key.

Brigitta J. As a successful affiliate of any number of businesses, it is up to you to promote businesses which may be either online stores or brick and mortar businesses with store fronts that offer products which might be of interest to the visitors who come to your site. In the past, you could tell who was heavily engaged in the affiliate marketing trade simply by the copious amount of flashing banner ads and pop up windows; at this point in time, marketing techniques have been greatly refined and the odds are good that many an affiliate marketer is marketing to you at this very moment perhaps without even noticing it!

Becoming an affiliate marketing entrepreneur in six easy steps is a good idea for any webmaster that is ready to enter the fray:

1. Understand the lingo of affiliate marketing. Like any other business it is fraught with abbreviations and whether you are dealing with PPC or PPS makes a huge difference in remuneration. Once you are familiar with the terminology, check for trends in these terms and you will most likely have a good chance at ferreting out what is hot and what is on its way out.
2. Craft a website that is not only user friendly but also search engine friendly. It is immaterial if this is a personal opinion blog site, an online magazine, a site that is created with the specific purpose of selling a good, or a promotional site for a celebrity. Whatever you choose to make the topic of your site, do it well, make the content sticky so that visitors will come back time and again, and then ensure that you go through all the steps of search engine optimization.
3. Entering the business as an affiliate marketing entrepreneur now requires that you find businesses with which you wish to affiliate yourself. The businesses should offer products or services of interest to the kinds of visitors your website receives and the remuneration scheme should be favorable to you. In other words, if you decide to affiliate yourself with a piano manufacturer who will pay $100 per sale, but requires you to have a $1,000 account balance prior to payout, you need to ask yourself how realistic it is to make 10 sales within a month or two. If this does not strike you as realistic, it is wiser to stay away.
4. Advertise your business and also the affiliate in newsletters, customer emails, and informative articles.
5. Track your success. Granted, most likely the company will do its own tracking of your sales and clicks, but it does not hurt to compile reports not only to double check for accuracy but also to explore trends and attempt new marketing campaigns.
6. Have the kind of flexibility to cut lose a program that does not perform. If one program is not making you any money, it is wise to drop it in favor of another one that holds better promise.

Brigitta J. Thanks in part to the freelance writers who create top notch content in which entrepreneurs can embed links at will, there are five reasons why affiliate marketing articles generate sales to such an extent as to even astound those who track online sales performance data for a living:

1. An article – as opposed to a banner ad or text link – enables the entrepreneur to put into about 400 to 500 words a plethora of reasons why the purchase of a product, use of a service, or choice of one company over another ensures personal satisfaction to the consumer. Much like the tried and true sales psychology of the 1980s that played on the fact that men sought to be admired while women wanted affirmation, affiliate marketing articles enable creative writers to generate these feelings in their readers and thus make your business stand out head, shoulders, and torso above the rest.
2. Affiliate marketing articles provide your company the unique opportunity to fulfill basic consumer needs, such as the assurance of pleasure and the avoidance of discomfort – either physical or fiscal. Tying together your product or company with a promise of gain or an assurance of safety from problems not only persuades potential clients to give your company a second look, but more often than not will spare you from being lumped in with the competition that has not yet caught on to the marketing opportunities offered by this medium.
3. “Free” is a word that no consumer can resist and if your affiliate marketing articles reference a freebie of any kind you can be sure that they get read! Offer a free coupon to a good or service from your business or perhaps a free e-book, stickers, or any other goodies that are cheap to manufacture and send out but create a sense of goodwill with your consumer base. The results are amazing and make your product irresistible!
4. Savvy entrepreneurs have used their affiliate marketing articles to fulfill the most basic human need of belonging to something greater than oneself. Thus, many such articles contain free membership offers to clubs or email groups, private chat rooms or action committees. In some cases marketers have chosen to offer exclusive membership to focus groups where for little if any remuneration the consumer would speak out on marketing trends and things that work and do not. This of course is highly profitable for the marketer and fulfills the basic need of belonging the consumer has, making your business the one website she or he will visit time and again.
5. Unlike banner ads or text links, affiliate marketing articles provide the perfect sales vehicle to deliver a deadline based pitch. Spell out over the course of 400 words why missing this once in a decade sale will be the bane of their existence, and before long you find that sales are increasing dramatically!

Brigitta J. Whether you have accepted a business offer from an online customer, bought into a franchise or accepted investments from friends or relatives, the ownership or your home business has may be filled with some wrinkles.

In the online business world, you have probably seen the offers to sign up with a company to run your own business. Even though your name or the name of your business will be on the website, it is still owned by the main company. You are nothing more than a distributor for their products or services and without choice are following their business model, selling their products at pre-set prices and earning what the company says you are going to earn.

That is not to say it is a bad thing, but many people who join these companies delude themselves into thinking they are business owners. You will not be able to make any changes on the website, nor will you be able to still anything that is not from the main company and in a majority of these businesses you will not be allowed to adjust pricing. The only thing you can control is how much money you spend on marketing this new business venture.

Franchising in an excellent way to open a business, whether brick and mortar or strictly online, but it presents a similar situation for the franchise business owner. Fess will be charged to take advantage of any national advertising campaigns and you are restricted to using only products bought from them or their authorized distributors. Again, your name will be right up there as owning the franchise for the business, but the business itself.

Funding for a new business can be difficult, with a few choices available. If you have managed to save money over several years to fund your own start-up business and accept money from no outside sources, then you are truly the business owner. If you take money from investors, they may believe they have a say in how the business operates as they want to protect their investment and if you max out your credit cards to fund your new business, then it is owned jointly by you and the credit card companies.

One mistake many new business owners make is asking for loans from relatives to get their business up and running. While it may seem like a good idea at the time, conversation at holiday gatherings will go in the same direction as the business. If business is good and everyone is making some money from their investments then holiday meals can be a happy and fun time. Conversely, if business is not going as well as expected, turkey may not be the only thing discussed at the family Thanksgiving meal.

Brigitta J. Customer service, appointment setting, and help desk positions are being offered to those who are willing to receive training needed to adequately answer customer questions and requests. From airline reservations to helping customers with electronics, there are plenty of positions available to those who want to work from home.

In order to qualify for a work from home position, you have to prove that you're qualified to perform all the daily tasks required of you. This usually means sending in a resume and cover letter, filling out an application, and participating in a phone interview. Because these types of positions require employees to be self-motivated, businesses screen all applicants carefully so they can choose the ones that will be the most dedicated to the job. Most positions require you to work a certain shift each day, cover shifts during the evening and on weekends when necessary, and be available for on-site training.

Additional requirements for these types of positions include having a dedicated phone line for work purposes, a computer with high speed Internet connection, a private work space that's away from children and other distractions, and a pleasant phone voice and demeanor that's necessary when dealing with disgruntled customers. Prior customer service experience may be necessary, but may not be for all positions available. If meet these criteria, then you may be a good candidate for this type of work.

Customer service positions are needed in many different industries from hospitality to insurance. You main task is to provide information to customers or help them sign up for services offered through your company. You may also have to track customer orders, help them return items or help them fix minor problems. Most positions are full-time with varied shifts so you can find a shift that fits into your lifestyle.

When looking for an at home job, you should verify that the job is legitimate. This can be done by visiting the Better Business Bureau website to see if any complaints have been filed against the company. You can also research the company online to find out information such as how long they have been in business, what they offer to customers, and the types of positions they typically hire for. This will give you a better idea of how to craft your cover letter as well.

If you are selected for an interview, you should find a quiet place to conduct this interview so you increase your chances of being hired. Answer all questions truthfully, speak naturally, and try to give a good first impression. You may be asked to read from a script so the interviewer can determine if you can communicate effectively with customers. If you will need special equipment, it will be sent to you after you accept the job offer. Most people are very happy working from home and helping others during the day.

Brigitta J. In simplest terms, a PPC program option is one of the most sought after affiliate programs today, only surpassed by a favorable ad impression program. If you are accepted as a pay per click affiliate, you will get paid each and every time that a visitor to your site sees the affiliate link and clicks on it. This is a far cry from the old way of doing business where payment would only be rendered if the click led to an actual sale. Thus, pay per click is considered online to be one of the easiest ways of making money yet the questions of whether or not you can build a business on a PPC affiliate program is not as easily answered in the affirmative as you might think.

There are serious limitations associated with a pay per click affiliate program, first and foremost the need for visitors that will visit your website in droves. The payouts are ridiculously small and in order to truly capitalize on this kind of program, you visitors must decide by the hundreds and the thousands to click the links that have them leaving your site only to land on the affiliate business’ website. For smaller webmaster and also small business owners who rely on web traffic to sell their own products, this kind of affiliate program is the kiss of death. If you are successful in beefing up your website visitors but they leave your site to visit the other business, you may be remunerated with a couple of pennies for each visitor that does so, but conversely you do not know how many hundreds of dollars in sales you have lost on your site simply because you sent the visitor somewhere else.

Additionally, if you consider that those webmasters whose web traffic is more limited may not have so many folks clicking on the links and thus the payout may be delayed for months on end until a threshold is reached, the quick and ready cash that made these programs so desirable in the first place is not as achievable as was first assumed or perhaps represented by those all in favor of the program.

Yet it is still possible to build a business on a pay per click affiliate program if you have the savvy to set up a website with that stated goal in mind and have the wherewithal to execute it in such a way that the site will get copious visitors while at the same time be considered valuable enough to the search engines to rank it fairly high. You may be surprised to learn that the old way of doing business via the gateway site is no longer acceptable but a similar concept that is now heavily capitalizing on link ads embedded in article marketing methods have shown sufficient promise to have webmasters rethink and redo their sites in droves.

Before your alter the look, feel, and stated goal of your site, make sure you take the time to research not only the company that is offering the PPC affiliate program in which you are interested, but ensure that you are also well versed with consumer trends, consumer behavior and get a feel for what is hot and what is on its way out.

Brigitta J. No matter what type of business you have, you have to be able to set up a home office – because otherwise you will not be able to conduct business. However, many people are not blessed to have an extra room in their home simply to work in. So, how do you find room for a home office when you simply don't have room for one?

The first thing that you have to do when you are looking for room for your home office is to make sure that you understand how much room you are actually going to need. What are you doing for your home business? Are you simply working online, which means that all you need room for is a desk and computer? Or do you need work space, like a large table? Do you need storage room as well? All of these things are important so that you can make the most out of the space that you need.

If all that you need is a desk and computer, you have it easy. This is going to be the best way that you have to get a real home office, just for yourself. You can find room for a desk and a computer just about anywhere – the corner of a bedroom or dining room. The trick is that you have to be able to separate this from the rest of your home. You might not think that it is important to do this, but if you cannot separate your home office area from the rest of your home you will find that it is too difficult to separate the home business itself from the rest of your life, which is very important in order to run your home business successfully. So, when you are looking at your home office space, you have to have it separated.

If all that you need is a desk and computer, you can separate this very easily. Find a roll top desk or a desk with doors that will close. That way, you can shut down your office when you are done with work for the day. This is something that you can do to make it easier on you, and it is something that you will be able to do quite easily as well.

If you need more room for your home business, you might have a problem. In small houses, or in houses where you have a spouse and kids and pets, you are going to r un into trouble. But remember that as long as you can find an area to use that can be separate, you will be ok. Think about using a corner of the basement or garage for this. You can separate areas with room dividers, or even with sheets hung from the ceiling. No matter what, you should be able to make your home office a separate place.

Brigitta J. There are some tips and guidelines that can assist you in creating a website that is sure to please. In order to achieve this, there are five areas that you want to focus on when creating your site. These areas include a site that is welcoming, clear, customer service, product details and affiliate links. In the next paragraph each of these areas will be discussed to provide a clear definition of each.

Inviting/Welcoming
When a customer enters your site the first impression is visual. You want the colors and print to offer an inviting feel. The first glimpse at your site can lead to further reading or a quick click of the back button. Make sure that you design your sites theme around your product or business. For example: if you have a website that offers children’s products you want a light feel. Colorful and carefree should be the tone of your site. You wouldn’t want monochromatic colors and not photos. You have to fit the feel of the site to the product as well as your target audience.

Clear and Understandable
This area is similar to the above example in the fact that you are once again basing your site set up on your target audience. If you have a business site, be it informational or service offer, it will be more professional and eloquent. If your site is for example a homework help site for teens you want it to appear less adult like but not childlike either. You wouldn’t want to use baby talk but you wouldn’t want to carry words on your site that a teen would have to pull out a dictionary for. Websites are all about suiting your customers likes and needs.

Customer Service
A customer service area should be included. Either a phone number or email address to send questions, suggestions or concerns to. If a customer feels that you want to cater to them they will be much more pleased with your site and become a return visitor. Be sure to set up an auto-responder with your email. This sends an immediate reply to your customers address assuring them that you have received their email, that you appreciate their time to contact you, and a time frame in which you will be able to provide a response to their message. This gives customers a sense of comfort. They see that you are a professional site and they will look forward to hearing from you.

Product or Service Details
The number one thing that will turn a customer away is if they feel that you are hiding or have simply left out information. If your product is appealing enough people will pay any price. If your product seems appealing but they are left with unanswered questions they are likely to visit another business site. If possible provide a product photo, size, shape, color etc. If you are selling a service be specific enough that a customer fully understands a product without rambling on unnecessarily. If they know what they are buying they will buy it.

Affiliate Links
Carrying affiliate links shows a customer that you are not just a ruthless sales person, but that you generally care that they find what they are looking for. If your site sells skin care products and there is a site that offers similar products that you do not carry, this link offers customer the chance to find exactly what they are looking for. They may not purchase a product the first time around, but if they remember your site was helpful they are likely to return. They may even spread news of your site through word of mouth. You just received yourself some free advertising.

If your site is appealing over all and it is truly designed with your target audience in mind than your site will be sure to be a success and create a rise in business profit.

Brigitta J. Will the product make life easier or more enjoyable? Will the use of the product allow a customer to gain something emotional such as a sense of pride, beauty or happiness? Think over your product and ask these questions about it. For example if you are selling a travel package, you’ll be able to say this product allows you to fill a desire to travel. It allows you to gain global perspective as you relax and refresh yourself. The benefit is to the customer not the product, company or sales representative. This will draw in your customer.

You will next have to prove to your customer why the product you are offering is better than a similar product of a lesser price. If you can prove that the quality of your item makes up for the higher price, you will win the sale. Consider the numerous mineral based make up companies popping up in stores and online. Know the facts about your product. In the area of mineral make up, its all natural, its healthy for the skin, it provides a more complete effect to professional attire and can increase your self-confidence. Be able to compare your product against at least one competitor by saying our product is slightly higher in prices because the minerals in the product are the purest minerals without any contamination from human hands. If you can justify the price for an item or product the customer will make the purchase.

By following such suggestions your sales techniques will improve and sales will increase, though you will find there is still going to be a handful of customers that will simply refuse to by any product no matter how useful or well priced it may be, etc. The customers who purchase your products will out weight the customers who refuse or are uninterested. A sale is simply about communicating with a customer and informing them on the ways a product can relate to daily needs. Check out http://www.get-the-profit.com for further tips. Also I'd like to share with you the wisdom of the famous Kim Klaver who says: to avoid painful situations after the question: "what do you do?" and you answer with your short and precise sales pitch - like: I market a product that helps overweight people lose weight. (And here comes the personal part:) like I used to do when I had 35kg too much. And in just 3 months after using this product xyz I was able to shed my weight. (And then comes the most important part - so that the listener does not feel pressured to buy something from you-) you just go on and ask: "do you know anyone who might be interested to buy a product like that?"
Then just hand over your card - that's all!

Here are a few tips to assist you increasing your sales success:
* Remove any unnecessary information. Keep your sales pitch simple so that your possible customer understands what your offer is in a short amount of time. Time is precious keeping this in mind.
* Be sure that you have a full understanding of your product. Be prepared to answer any questions about your product including price, materials or other details. Customers will be appreciative and trustworthy because of your complete product knowledge
* Keep the ordering process as easy as possible. Limit the need for any unnecessary paperwork; provide contact information by an email address or business card. If a customer is interested but busy this can help to generate a sale that can be completed later in the day.
* Carry sample products at all times. You don’t have to have a trunk full of merchandise, but samples are a really helpful aid in completing a sale.Adding these tips to your usual sales techniques can prove to be a positive move towards increasing your sales and over all profit.

Brigitta J. Saturated markets will not earn you as much in profits as a smaller market can. This is because the smaller market is not as saturated, which means that you can sell more products and earn more money. When looking for a new market, you should develop a business plan, research markets that are in need of products, and create a product that you can sell. Instead of creating a product first, you will be better able to cater to your customer base.

A business plan is a simple page outlining your plans and expenses. Depending on your level of investment, your business plan should include all expenses, marketing plans, and more about the types of products you are interested in producing. While you may not know the exact product you will create until after finding a market, you should have an idea whether this product will be an informational product, service, or gadget that your customers will order. Informational products include eBooks, guides, and manuals that can be downloaded after paying for them.

Once you have a business plan, you will have to research markets to find groups that are in need of products you are able to sell. Research potential markets using search engine marketing tools, learn more about popular hobbies and other activities that people have, and by conducting online searches to get a better idea of what people are looking for online. Create a list of potential markets that could be profitable. Narrow down you choices by finding out if these markets are saturated with products are not. Markets that are too small will not be very profitable, so try to find markets that have a solid base, but are still looking for information.

During your research, you may find a need for certain information products or other items by potential markets. When it comes to developing a product, you may have to conduct even more research in order to create a useful product. The product you sell should satisfy a need. This will make it profitable. Once you develop your product and market it on a website and by using other marketing methods, you can move on to the next product while your first product generates an income.

Internet marketing can be a very lucrative business that you can do from home. By investing a little time and money, you can start a successful business in a few months. After researching and creating a few new products, the process will become much easier. With the profits you earn, you can explore other business opportunities. Over time, you will be able to work part-time, or you can go into another business. By working from home, you should be able to make your own schedule, work on projects that seem interesting, and earn as much as you want. Many people enjoy the freedom and the rewards of running an Internet business.

Brigitta J. You can choose to either work from home selling or marketing another company’s merchandise, you can create and sell your own merchandise or you can provide a service for an outside company. Asking yourself a set of questions can lead you to making your decision.

Marketing Outside Products
There are numerous companies who hire representatives to work from home marketing their products or services from home. This can be anything from marketing vacation packages to offering vitamins and nutritional supplements. The key to making this successful home business choice is having true faith in the product or service you are offering. Research the item, find testimonials, and even try a sample of the item for yourself. If you see that the product is worthy of your time and effort you will feel more positive about your choice. You will be able to offer this item to others and feel pride in doing so. Asking yourself if you have faith in this product will make this choice worthwhile.

Marketing Your Own Products
Whether you are crafty with wood, paint or clay you can take your talent and put it to use as a moneymaker.

Brigitta J. Before any plan can be effective, it has to have the means of providing the execution to make the plan work. With prescribed actions to execute the steps in the business plan, all it will be is a list of hopes and dreams.

For example, a business plan may stipulate the company will sell a thousand widgets every day in order to bring in enough money to meet payroll and other expenses. It may even go so far as to project who will sell them but if the plan does not stipulate how they will be sold and, more importantly to whom, the plan is nothing more than a dream. Execution is the principal means behind any valued plan, detailing who will do what, when and how to allow the plan to be scripted completely.

On the other hand, any business can be planned to death. Meaning entirely too much time is spent on putting a plan on paper and never putting it into action. Even a great business plan is useless unless a timeline is attached to every step of the plan to put it into motion and follow through on making it work.

Another example is in assigning tasks to a group under the supervision of one person. By sitting down with that person and discussing the project, it can be agreed as to what tools will be needed to get the job done, how many people will be required to complete it in a specified time frame and at what cost. By enlisted the help of the individual in charge in putting the plan together, that person has a vested interest in making sure it is done on time and within budget.

Once the plan is on paper and put into action, there has to be a certain amount of follow-up to insure the project is going as planned and if any adjustments are needed they can be made before it is too late. After the first few days, the supervisor can be asked about the project and if everything looks good and they claim everything is going according to plan and is on schedule, it probably is. If they hedge about being ale to get done on time and admit there have been underestimates made about how long it will take, they can have input on what else is needed to remain on schedule.

If the supervisor continues to express optimism of being able to get done on time and the owner sees that it is becoming more obvious it is not going to happen, they may need to reassess their choice of the person in charge and hold them accountable for not being on schedule. With their buy-in from the beginning as part of the planning stage and their help in determining what is needed, they cannot pass fault back to the business owner for not giving them what they need to get the job done. It would be their failure to execute the plan to make it work and should be held responsible.

Brigitta J. Most franchise businesses will offer realistic projections of potential customers, but there are some that present misleading information that may make the opportunity appear more destined for success than it can possibly achieve.

To better relate to the business and the potential for customers, relate it to many of the online dating services. Seriously, not that this is the suggested business, but it can give a better understanding about how to calculate the available customer base for nearly any type of business venture.

First, consider some of the largest services that claim they boast a membership base of 20 million, just for the sake of round numbers. The site has a policy that while these 20 million are registered members, unless they pay for their membership they cannot contact other members nor can they be contacted. Currently, most dating services boast about a 30 percent paid membership so that 20 million member list is cut down to six million paid members that you can contact or who can contact you.

Lets presume that half of these members are of the same sex as you are, dropping the potential members that would want to meet you to three million. Still, that seems like a large number of possibilities, provided you are willing to travel around the globe for a date. Since only about 40 percent of dating service members reside in the United States , that eliminates another 1.8 million members, leaving you with only 1.2 million members of the opposite sex spread out around the country.

If these 1.2 million members are evenly divided among the 50 states, that means there are 24,000 possible dates in your home state, provided if age means nothing to you. Their personal profiles will eliminate many more and how they perceive your profile will put many more out of the picture, and when considering how far you and them are willing to travel for a date, it is a very real possibility that out of that 20 million membership base there are only a dozen or less potential dates living within 50 miles of your home town, makes the prospect of finding true romance more in perspective.

Before buying into the hype of a franchise business you will want to completely analyze the size and potential of your potential customer base to determine if it has the potential to create enough business to sustain your lifestyle. Consider the age and gender of the potential customers and compare it to the demographics of your town. You may find there is plenty of business to go around, or you may find you will be the only interested customer on the block.

Before you mortgage the homestead and sign the franchise lease is the time to conduct your research. Do not let buying a franchise be controlled by your desire to get into business for yourself. Make the decision based on the business that is the best for you to get into.

Brigitta J. Even internet-based companies need to be known and accepted in their home communities and business owners who play where they live generally have a better chance of success. Being involved in the community can help a community become involved in the business.

Regardless of the type of business you are in, becoming known in your home community can have many benefits. It can also become part of your marketing strategy, even if no one recognizes your involvement as a business growth strategy. Consider the uniforms worn by youth sports teams and ask how many of the companies that sponsor those teams do so out of the goodness of their heart. If that was the case, the name of the business would not be on the backs of all the uniforms and would not be read in every newspaper article that publishes the score of the local games.

When parents are attending one of junior's games and they are need of a plumber, who do you think they are going to call? Chances are the company whose name is on the back of the uniform will get the business. Of course, adult-themed businesses are not usually acceptable as sponsors for these activities, but the idea is the same no matter what type of business it is.

Targeting your name and message is equally important as no matter how many ads or how much money is spent, if it is only seen or heard by people who have no use for your services, it will be a wasted effort. Consultants often find that membership in local social or civic service organizations is a great place to recruit business. One rule of thumb though, unless specifically asked, never discuss your business during a social gathering.

This is often viewed as pandering to the masses or preaching to a captive audience. People will still ask you: "WHAT DO YOU DO?" and it's best to have a very brief answer ready that you can swirl off in 10 seconds flat. Like, when you market an on-line product about self-improvement (and it has many scientific terms and names) you simply say:" I market a product that helps people overcome their shyness and make a better life through further education. Do you know anyone who might be interested to hear more about a product like that?"

So IF someone asks THAT question, hand them your business card with your homepage on and an invitation to call or, better yet, ask when it would best to contact them so you can supply more detailed and more accurate information rather than discussing it at a community picnic.

It takes a lot of time and effort to be part of a community and even some who have lived in the same town for years are not well-known outside their own backyard.

For a while, at least, you need to forget about all the hype surrounding the internet marketing and advertising and make your home community the base for getting your name out in the public view. Even if only a few individuals may be able to use your services, others may know of someone who can. Besides, it's good for your soul and your business to mix with people of all ages that are not exactly family. It will broaden your view in life and subconsciously help you in making choosing your next product.

It is not only who you know that helps your marketing efforts, it is also who they know that helps grow your business. The important thing is to be known by someone, who knows someone, who knows someone and so on.

Brigitta J. They may know as much or more than you do, but if they have reason to believe that you are and expert, then others likely will also view you as an expert.

The question then becomes, how do you get others to view as the go-to expert on matters in your chosen field of expertise? Being recognized as an expert is hard work and attempting to convince people of your credentials will not make it happen. You have to show them your expertise. One way to make that happen is to become published on the subject. There is something about being named an author about a subject that can instantly make you an expert.

Let me tell you a funny story: when visiting in India with my outsourcing development partners http://www.bsil.com/ , I met - during their annual Celebration for the deceased founder of the company, their external accountant and auditor. A very charming, well read gent and a music lover. He stated, he wants to come to Vienna and also to Salzburg in a couple of months to attend the world famous Salzburg music festival, and could I help him to get a speaking engagement on that occasion. So I arranged for him to speak at the Federal Chamber of Commerce on "Foreign Investments in India" which was well received by the audience, as he is really a gifted speaker, able to spice the dry subject with life and wit. And he came well prepared. In fact, all he did was gather up officially available stuff you can find on the Homepage of the Government of India, practically he had only helped TWO companies to setting up a subsidiary in India at this point. Next thing I did after his return to India, I checked his homepage and guess what I found there as a reference? His company has "consulted the Government of Austria" on business relations with India !!! This made me and all my friends who had met him laugh out loud, but 99,9% of people reading this would actually believe it (and not check!). My private advice, always stick to the truth. People who know the ropes would value a Chamber of Commerce connection far more than a Government connection. And since the world is a village nowadays, you don't want to go red in the face when meeting old friends again who may stab you with questions about the issue, knowing you have shamelessly "used" them.

Let it suffice to be said that - many times you will see a presentation being given by someone you never heard of, and it is usually accompanied by the notice that they are the author of a book, an article an important-sounding paper, but rarely does it ever say where the item was published. That detail is not nearly as important than actually being published. Making copies of the article available also lends credence to the claim of being an expert.

With so many ezines published on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, use your background and knowledge about a subject and write a short informative article. Find an ezine publication focused in the same area and offer them the article free of charge. Unless it is true garbage, most ezines will not refuse free content and once they publish it, you are on the road to becoming an expert.

Offer your speaking services to local service organizations on subjects related to their membership. If you have spent years in management, you probably have good knowledge about many aspects of managing a business and speaking to other business owners about management ideas can boost your credibility. Now, not only are you a published author but you are also an experienced speaker.

From the free speeches to small groups you can advance to offering presentations to peer groups, further securing your status as an expert in the field and can get paid for your speaking and presentation abilities. In reality, the biggest difference between an expert in the field and another person working in the field is not about their advanced knowledge. It is more about how much they can charge for their services. Experts make more money.

Starting a consulting business, based on being an acknowledged expert can make all the difference in the world. Your subject matter and materials may be exactly the same. but with the new designation of expert in the biography, there are more people willing to spend money to hear you speak.

Your website can tout all the reasons and all the people and groups that consider you an expert in the field, without every using the word expert. Simply by having the background as a published author and public speaker is usually enough credibility to make your expert opinion worth pay to hear.

Brigitta J. Maybe a twist to an old idea that you thought was unique or a new taste to the old hamburger that you find absolutely fantastic. Maybe a retailer with a unique niche product that you find is not only available but can be opened as a franchise. Before writing the check to get the business open back home, you are going to want to do some research to find out if the business can survive in your neighborhood.

It is not only whether there is enough population in your hometown to support the business, but are there enough of the right kind of customers to make the business grow into the success you envision? While you may be enamored with the concept, you will need to make sure others will embrace your enthusiasm before opening a new business. You can easily start by looking around in neighboring communities to see if such a business exists.

They do not have to be the same brand you are considering, but similar in the type of products or services they offer. It will probably not hurt to travel to a nearby location and talk to the owner of the franchise about business prospects. They may not be willing to divulge a lot of information to a stranger, but they give you a general idea about the success of the business. Also, if there are no cars in the lot during what you might consider what should be a busy time, what they tell you may be a moot point.

Look at competition to the concept and how other businesses are supplying the overall need that your proposed franchise may end up competing against. You should also understand the demographics in your area, and most information is available free through local chambers of commerce. By comparing the community make up with other similar sized communities, you can gain a good understanding of the potential for success your franchise idea may have.

While most companies, for reasons known only to them are reluctant to talk about profit expectations, talking with other franchise owners may reveal some of the realities of owning that particular franchise. Again, they may be reluctant to offer figures, but most will share their experiences about the business relationship with the flagship company. But researching the company as well as the business can save a lot of heartache in the long run, as well as your cash.

I still remember about 15 years ago my friend came home from a hong holiday in Bali and was burning with the idea of opening a small store with furniture from there - especially for veranda /winter-garden/outdoor garden in her home-town, which happens to be Innsbruck in Tyrol/Austria. A typical Wintersports region, the days you can sit outdoors in your garden can be counted on your 2 hands...so I adviced her against it.

Buying into a franchise can be the beginning of a long lasting financial affair with your bank and if the business venture will not work in your town you can either find a town in which it has a better chance of survival or find another opportunity.

Meanwhile, a Yuppie-Furniture chain-store in Vienna has taken up this idea and indeed imports a lot from Bali - but then again, they have various outlets and climate in Vienna is much warmer, besides this, had the idea flopped, THEY would not go broke because of it, they have plenty of other product lines to make business with in their store! Now let's say, my friend would hold on to her idea and ask the Furniture chain store for a Franchise for Innsbruck TODAY...

But, the bottom line is that if you enter into a franchise agreement and the business does not produce as expected, you are the one holding the promissory note with the bank and if you put your house up as collateral, you family's future depends on the depth of your research. The climate has not changed much in Innsbruck, but she MIGHT just succeed because she has other products- proven perpetual runners- to market.

We still have fun talking about it, because she is proud of having come up with this good idea way before the TREND started. But with little cash - and she sees it clearly today, her chances to succeed would have been minimal.

Brigitta J.
