Today, I discovered a video that moved me deeply and I definitely want to share it with you. If you are in a very stressful job, maybe this video makes you turn to home-business -:)

Life is absolutely incredible and the way we function is miraculous!
Why you should listen to Jill:
One morning, a blood vessel in Jill Bolte Taylor's brain exploded. As a brain scientist, she realized she had a ringside seat to her own stroke. She watched as her brain functions shut down one by one: motion, speech, memory, self-awareness ...
Amazed to find herself alive, Taylor spent eight years recovering her ability to think, walk and talk. She has become a spokesperson for stroke recovery and for the possibility of coming back from brain injury stronger than before. In her case, although the stroke damaged the left side of her brain, her recovery unleashed a torrent of creative energy from her right. From her home base in Indiana, she now travels the country on behalf of the Harvard Brain Bank as the "Singin' Scientist."
"How many brain scientists have been able to study the brain from the inside out? I've gotten as much out of this experience of losing my left mind as I have in my entire academic career."Jill Bolte Taylor.
That was the clearest description I ever came to concerning such an incident, which can sweep down on ANY OF US - as this film has shown, even to very relatively YOUNG persons. And what's most astounding - even in such a situation, she doesn't call EMERGENCY - 112- or whatever this number is in her area - but searches through a stack of cards for the number of her COMPANY - she does not even PERCEIVE that this is actually an EMERGENCY for HERSELF - a life and death question for herself !!!Most likely we would do just the same - this is HOW WE ARE PROGRAMMED- our brain is like a MICROSOFT programm searching for a solution that is not to be found within the SOFTWARE - but OUTSIDE ot if. But the SYSTEM tells us to search WITHIN the computer-harddisk !! We all know the result: up comes a window - after a looong time of futile search - asking: should the problem be solved by searching ONLINE help in the internet? By the time this happens- we are probalbly dead!!To think she thought she was SPEAKING on the phone - but was actually just babbling - I think - besides what could happen to ourselves - this film makes us all so much more aware of - "THESE things we must remember - whenever WE get such a call from someone" - to be REALLY alarmed and get immediate help, and not think that someone just dialled the wrong number or is just drunk or so - presuming the worst about some people- as we are SOMETIMES inclined to do when we are very tired or irritated.....but to take immediate ACTION.What amazes me most is, that a stroke often hits people who you think have a really "easy going life" (=like my brother- who had a huge fixed income, happy family + all + nothing to worry about, unlike me as an enterpreneur - always worrying, the pillow I was sleeping on was never too fatly stuffed with eiderdowns!!) etc.) and not a stressful one (as I have always had). But the definition of "stress" is not to be defined objectively, but only subjectively - hence - we really DON'T know, what stresses our loved ones, and mostly, we are not even aware what STRESSES OURSELVES - or this wonderful intelligent woman and BRAIN SPECIALIST would not have suffered a stroke- as a doctor she would have known how to prevent it - surely. Now I've heard there is a reagens to come onto the market soon that may be ABLE to tell (in a blood test) if and when we are AT HIGH RISK to suffer from stroke. Now - I wonder - !! What I actually found so phanstastic was the description of "the entire relieve and excitement" to be at last - rid of all the worries and responsibilities - in the NEAR DEATH - experience description - which takes away the fear of death- ! Death is - as she said - indeed just a transition and a wonderful one - if we are able to let go of the anxiety fixing us to this earthly life. NOW, MOST RELIGIONS TEACH US JUST THAT= we need not fear death - but - put a hand on your heart- and at the end of the day - YES - we DO fear it. But this story took a lot of the sting out of this fear for me- I don't know how YOU perceived it?I cannot help but close this chapter about our brain and its functions with an absolutely tasteless joke my son in law told me: "two winoes are discussing a TV series concerning Parkinson and Altzheimer desease- and one asks the other- "tell me - if fate should decide, WHICH one of the 2 deseases would you rather suffer from?" So his mate ponders for a while and says : "I'd choose Altzheimer any day. Because I'd rather FORGET to pay for a PINT than SPILL it!"Now we ALL know that jokes express a situation, people (folks) feel helpless about. Statistics say, 90% of us will suffer from Altzheimer as we progress into old age, and there is NO REAL CURE FOR IT - SO - HERE AGAIN - WE (and science) DO NOT KNOW WHAT MAKES OUR BRAIN TICK!!! And maybe - it's for the best????
